Website accessibility
A commitment to Accessibility
We are committed to making sure that everyone has access to our website
and its content. Our aim is to ensure that everyone is able to read the
details contained within.
Our sites are designed to help accessibility by, where possible,
following the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) set by the
World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) as part of their Web Accessibility
Initiative.
These sites fully utilise CSS (Cascading Style Sheets) to separate
content from presentation, reducing file sizes and increasing download
speeds. Most images have been regulated to the CSS document and where
possible text alternatives for graphical content have been provided.
The site is also accessible to users whose browsers do not support
JavaScript.
There are currently a couple of areas which may cause some accessibility issues:
1. Security images (visual verification images)
For security reasons, images that require visual verification of
characters may be used as part of site. These types of images may not
be accessible to users with certain types of impairments. We are
actively searching for a more accessible replacement for these images.
If you are experiencing problems with an image, please mail us.
2. Adverse effects when changing text and background colours
Where colours are used, we have tried to ensure maximum contrast
between foreground and background items, according to the W3C's
suggested formula. We are aware some users need to use their own text
and background colour settings. Users are able to change the colour
options with ease, however, when they are changed it can cause adverse
effects in the browser and certain content fails to be displayed (this
content currently includes some pictures and logos). If you are
experiencing problems with colour contrast, please mail us.
